In 1957, Richard J. Caron, a recovering alcoholic started a home for people struggling with addiction. Two years later, Caron opened a facility center named Chit Chat Farms in South Mountain in Wernersville, Pennsylvania- Which became the first internationally recognized chemical dependency treatment centers in the United States. This Chit Chat farm was loving called magic mountains and it was the first treatment center to admit female addicts providing psychological treatment with the traditional 12 step approach.
The Chit Chat Farms was renamed Caron to honor its founder(Late). For more than 60 years Caron treatment center is transforming the lives of addicted persons through personalized, comprehensive and proven treatment. Caron currently serves in ten locations, namely Caron in Pennsylvania, Caron Renaissance in Florida, Caron Ocean Drive in Florida, Caron Counseling Outpatient Services in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, Atlanta Outpatient Services and Recovery Center, New York City Recovery Center, Philadelphia recovery Center, New England Recovery Center, Washington D.C Recovery Center and Breakthrough at Caron.
