Day house for addicts and alcoholics rescuing from their disease came about in the Fall of 1968. The philosophy is to provide a temporary home for those with no place to live and no way to support it. The resident learns to change their lives and help themselves in an atmosphere of compassion and loving concern. They learn to be efficient for their own choices. The intention is true restoration – a new life restored to the community.
The statistics on the destruction of alcoholism and drug addiction are staggering. The need for the program has developed over the years, but thankfully, the support of the surrounding community and friends of Limen House. Their sober living program for recovering alcoholics and addicts consists of four sober living houses, two houses serving women and two serving men, all in Wilmington, Delaware. No.Limen House provides high-intensity residential (3.5 Male only), low-intensity residential (3.1 Male only), intensive outpatient (2.1), and general outpatient (1.0) services for substance use. We also provide substance use assessments and detox referrals.
An aftercare or discharge plan is a collaborative effort between the client and the treatment team that helps the client cope with post-treatment challenges. Effective aftercare planning can help prepare clients for ongoing success in all areas of life. All clients leave treatment with a detailed aftercare plan complete with the contacts and resources needed to continue along the road of recovery—like medical appointments, local therapeutic resources, 12-step support groups, sober or transitional living, or any necessary means of continued support. Aftercare also includes follow-up calls between staff. clients, and our alumni program.
